Family Fun Day Sunday 28th June 2009

A good weather forecast had some Car Booters out bright and early at 5.30 a.m. The coffee and tea area was busy from 7.30 onwards and by 10 a.m. families were ready to have fun.

All day there was a queue to “Walk on Water” in the hydrosphere, the two artists doing free face painting for the children didn’t have a chance to eat their lunch, they were too busy creating wonderful Lions, tigers, fairies and even a ghost.

Local INK Theatre Group provided entertainment and active participation in their dance routines, the fun fair rides didn’t stop, the bomb disposal robot was put through his paces, the hog roast was busy all day and still the sun kept shining.

In the arena Icarus Falconry gave us the chance to admire hawks and eagles, their static display had tawny owls, barn owls and so much more. Tom and Tilly Turnip thought their 3 wheeled car could fly – they did try but it just wouldn’t go.

The Baby Show proved yet again that Stamford has beautiful babies and the judges did a grand job of keeping everyone happy whilst picking a winner.

The Royal British Legion had their stand and joined Churches Together for a Drumhead Service at the end of the day.

Our thanks to everyone who joined us and we look forward to seeing you next year on Sunday 27th June 2010.
